Written by Aaron Ridenour, Psychotherapist New year…new term…new start. This past week, ScenicView Academy students and staff were a little less serious as they participated in several different Welcome Week Activities to get to know each other, build relationships, and have a little fun at the same time. New students were welcomed, awards were presented, and recognition was given for all the hard work that has been accomplished these last few months. It is no coincidence that this is how 2016 begins. One of ScenicView’s Empowerment Statements reads, “I am worthy of respect and connection.” That is a message that ScenicView Academy wants to engrain in every student, staff, parent, and anyone else with whom we have the pleasure of associating. In a week filled with so many smiles and so much laughter, hopefully everyone is feeling the respect and connection that so many have already shared.
We still have a lot of work to do, but we’re optimistic about the journey ahead of us. So throughout this year, let’s stay connected, roll up our sleeves, and get to work on helping each other achieve our personal goals. But, in all seriousness, let’s not forget to have a little fun along the way.
