Live staff
Our Live Program emphasizes the daily living and lifelong learning skills needed to become residentially independent. Skills like: budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, medical and dental health, laundry, cleaning, and transportation prepare students to live independently in the community. Educational support is also available in reading, writing, math and for getting a high school, college, or trade school diploma.
Kelli Johnson
Live Program Manager x
Kelli Johnson Live Program Manager Kelli Johnson has a Master’s of Science in Management and Leadership MSML from Western Governor’s University and a BS in Elementary Education from Southern Utah University. She taught in public schools as a certified teacher for six years and is licensed in both Utah and Washington. She has experience with all grade levels and types of students. Kelli has worked at ScenicView Academy for 12 years. She teaches a variety of subjects, works as the Outside Education Specialist, supervises the SVA library, and is the Education Supervisor. Kelli loves getting to know each student as an individual and supporting them in the way that works best for them. As a mom of three kids and an experienced teacher, she appreciates each person’s unique strengths and challenges and believes that every student can achieve great things. |
Zach Nuttall

Zach Nuttall Live Skills Supervisor Zach found his passion for working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum when he started working as a paraprofessional in a severe autism classroom at a local elementary school. Throughout his time as a paraprofessional, Zach discovered his love for teaching and a talent for helping students with learning differences. Because of his experience as a paraprofessional and his interest in Autism, Zach started his Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education at Western Governors University. He hopes to finish his program in 2025 and become a teacher! As a Live Skills Specialist, Zach supports students in learning and applying skills in Money Management and helping students create a budget that will allow them to live independently. Zach hopes to be an advocate for the students at ScenicView, to learn more about working with adults with neurodiversities, and to help students understand their worth as an individual in society! In his free time Zach likes to take care of his house plants, watercolor paint, and spend time with his wife and kids. |
Alva Blas
Live Skills Specialist x
Alva Blas Live Skills Specialist Alva has over 20 years experience working with individuals with disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She worked with children and adults in group homes as well as site and community based programs. Alva also provided respite care for parents and care providers, currently she is a host parent for an individual with learning differences. She obtained her National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services (ACRE), as a Job Coach she helped individuals learn and accurately carry out their job duties. Alva is passionate about helping others achieve their goals no matter how hard or long it takes. Because of her love for helping others she chose to work at ScenicView Academy. During her free time she volunteers at Slate Canyon Youth Center and in the Children's Ministry at her church. Alva is originally from Southern California, when the weather is appropriate she enjoys road trips with her family, playing dominoes with her father, and barbecues with family and friends. |
Amy Trent

Amy TrentEducation Specialist Amy Trent joined Scenic View Academy in 2023 after a career working in Elementary Education. Amy enjoyed working with students and training teachers in math and science as well as sharing her love of reading. She has a master's degree in education focusing on curriculum and instruction. This degree provides an understanding of learning cycles and how to engage diverse students in a variety of areas. Amy loves to break complex topics into simpler manageable steps. This allows her to find what students know and understand and then build on that understanding to reach their goals. Scenic View Academy's mission to empower students to reach independence speaks to the long term vision Amy had working with young students and as a parent of two children of her own. Seeing family and friends parenting children with Autism has highlighted the need for resources and support for families and transitional services as those children reach adulthood. Life has taught Amy that initial mistakes or failures provide learning and can become strengths if given time, support, and courage. Her motto for life is "Try, try again." |
Ana Gonzalez

Ana Gonazalez Live Skills Specialist Ana is a compassionate and patient individual, with over 8 years of experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Able to interpret non-verbal communication & appropriately assist individuals. She has a mindfulness diploma and uses techniques in her personal life. Ana realized that she could use it with students to give them peace & calm in their life's! Adept in methods to diffuse client frustration & anger. As a mom of an autistic child, she has empathy with parents and students and is always looking for student improvement. She advocates for the students in each area that is necessary to help them progress and keep them safe. Ana thinks that no one has a disability, that we all have the same potential, we just need to support those who see things differently. We need to give them love, patience and respect. She worked as a paraprofessional in special education, with severe, profound and mild to moderate autism spectrum. She loves working with students on the autism spectrum, helping them to progress academically, socially and emotionally. Ana is from Mexico City. She graduated in business administration at the University Del Valle de Mexico. She likes to go for walks in nature and enjoys reading. Ana is still in the process of getting Registered Behavior Technician and Coaching Certification. She is happy to be part of ScenicView Academy. |

Josh Hill Budgeting & Transportation Specialist Joshua is originally from the south. He got an associates degree from Brigham Young University in Idaho. He is still in the process of getting his Accounting degree. Joshua believes that ScenicView is an amazing place and that they are part of the solution. While at SVA Josh has done many different job duties such as being a driver, HSW, cooking and transportation specialists. However Josh really enjoys being a money management specialist and helping students practice self-control with their money and help them being disciplined with their budgets. In his free time Joshua loves basketball and in college he coached women’s basketball and won a coach of the year award in a intercollegetical basketball league. |

Josh Olivas Live Skills Specialist As a life-long autistic person, Josh has faced and survived a wide variety of life experiences necessitating strong independence skills. After a decade of IT administration, he was attracted to the unique change of pace ScenicView Academy offered, where he could help make a difference in the lives of people like himself by teaching skills he had learned the hard way. He brings a logical approach to teaching combined with the powerful background of an autistic special interest in fine-dining cooking; this allows him to connect well with ScenicView's student population as well as distill cooking knowledge down to its bare essence. Josh is tired of hot weather and personally resents the sun. He loves hanging out in mountain landscapes and dabbling in coastal cuisine. Josh is also a voracious consumer of podcasts and an avid collector of calories. |
Julie Hillman
Education Specialist x
Julie Hillman Education Specialist Julie has a bachelor’s degree from Utah State in Speech Communications and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Special Education with endorsements in Severe to Profound and Mild to Moderate disabilities. She was a paraeducator in the Alpine School district for six years and then taught at Centennial Middle School in Provo and Reagan Academy in Springville for seven years. She received her certification in the Wilson Reading Program and became a certified Dyslexia Practitioner. Julie was also an academic advisor at the Heritage Community, working with students on the Autism Spectrum and assisting them with their educational needs. She strongly advocates for students with disabilities and is passionate about teaching. Her top priority is building relationships with her students to prepare them to learn. Julie is an avid traveler, birder, reader, writer, mother, nana, wife, and enjoys the outdoors. Julie is excited to bring her experience to ScenicView Academy as a teacher. |
Kim Seely

Kim Seely Librarian Kimberly Seely is from Ephraim, Utah. She graduated from Manti High School in 1996. She became a student at ScenicView Academy in 2015, and then graduated in 2018. She loves people and family history, and has a gift for remembering names and birthdates. Her family calls her “the connector.” When she gets bored or lonely her cat Sunny comes to her rescue. Kimberly is ScenicView’s librarian. The library may seem quiet at times, but she does many things behind the scenes. In addition to the typical librarian duties of greeting and helping patrons, checking items in or out, renewing items, putting books away, and straightening the shelves, she also collects suggestions for new items and helps with orders and processing new items. Additionally, she adds and removes patrons from our library system and keeps in contact with patrons through email so they know when books are coming due. She also makes monthly displays and processes library fines. Kimberly also enjoys supporting ScenicView’s clubs and activities and building relationships among staff and students. She is grateful for the opportunity to work at ScenicView! |
Mel Harsh

Mel Harsh Live Skills Specialist Mel is currently studying at Brigham Young University towards a BA in Exercise Sciences. During their time as an undergraduate, they had the opportunity to intern at ScenicView and fell in love with the organization as a whole. They love seeing students reach their full potential while having fun building community and repertoire. As a Live Skills Specialist, Mel helps students develop and maintain skills related to Transportation through collaborative teaching and mentoring. Mel has spent countless hours navigating public transportation here in Utah while providing insights on car maintenance to many individuals. Mel is also a high-energy individual whose priorities are promoting inclusion in the community. Outside of their work at ScenicView, Mel enjoys longboarding, weight-lifting, celebrating their Brazilian heritage, and serving their community. |
Ralph Radcliffe

Ralph Radcliffe Live Skills Specialist Ralph joined ScenicView in 2013 after a long career in the printing industry and has held a couple different positions. He is currently a Live Support Specialist and enjoys teaching independent living skills to help the students progress towards successful independence. Through personal experience overcoming his own challenges in life, Ralph understands the students’ differences and the difficulties they face. He relates to the students and enjoys working with them. He believes in possibilities and beating the odds. Ralph loves his family and is passionate about basketball. He is competitive in all sports. He also enjoys watching movies and listening to music. |
Terri Timmins

Terri Timmins Education Specialist Terri earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical & Fuels Engineering from the University of Utah, all while raising four children. Her professional experience includes six years as a private tutor of K-12 and college students, including special-needs students, and nine years as a Process Engineer in the Personal Care and Nanotechnology industries. She is excited to once again be teaching and interacting with students at ScenicView. Terri and her husband have been part of the BYU Women’s Basketball Stats Team since 2007, and both love to travel. She enjoys Utes football, musical theater, journaling, reading, collecting sea shells, and spending time with her family (currently at 19 grandchildren, some of which travel with her).
