The Value of Work
Employment is a key part of living independently. Work provides a sense of purpose, a source of connection and interaction, and necessary income to sustain ourselves day-to-day. Unfortunately, too many adults with autism and learning disabilities are underemployed--if they are employed at all. The Huffington Post reports that "the combined unemployment and underemployment for young adults with autism is estimated at 90 percent nationwide" (see full article here.) ScenicView Academy's vocational path empowers students with crucial work skills. Our on-campus and off-campus employment programs help students overcome their barriers to employment and connects them to community employment opportunities.
