Julie Hillman
Julie is a dedicated and experienced educator with a strong background in special education and student advocacy. She holds a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications from Utah State University and a master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Phoenix, with endorsements in Severe to Profound and Mild to Moderate disabilities.
With over two decades of experience in education, Julie began her career as a paraeducator in the Alpine School District before moving into full-time teaching at Centennial Middle School in Provo and Reagan Academy in Springville. She earned a certification in The Wilson Reading Program, and is a certified Dyslexia Practitioner, equipping her with specialized skills to support students with reading challenges.
Julie’s passion for working with neurodiverse learners led her to serve as an academic advisor at the Heritage Community, where she assisted students on the autism spectrum in achieving their educational goals. She strongly advocates for students with disabilities, believing meaningful connections and individualized support are key to fostering academic and personal growth.
Beyond the classroom, Julie is an avid traveler, dedicated birder, enthusiastic reader and writer, and nature lover. As a mother, nana, and wife, she brings warmth and dedication to every aspect of her life. She is thrilled to bring her expertise, passion, and commitment to student success to ScenicView Academy.
Cece Poulter
Cece has a Bachelors of Social Work from Brigham Young University - Hawai’i, as well as minors in Psychology and English. During her time in school there, she found a passion for teaching and helping others as she tutored academic reading and writing. Additionally, Cece has spent time working in residential treatment with adolescents learning about trauma informed care, building professional relationships, and the importance of education as a tool for progression. As a Live Skills Specialist, Cece is excited to be a part of the ScenicView community, learn more about teaching people with Autism, and empower students to reach their goals. She is dedicated to understanding each individual and adapting to their needs. When not at ScenicView Academy, Cece can be found teaching English as a second language in the community, spending time with her nieces and nephews, or hiking in the mountains. Cece finds joy in helping people of all ages and abilities learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Jarom Barnes
Jarom is currently studying at Brigham Young University and is working towards a BS in psychology. He previously worked at Heritage Community, a residential treatment center, where he found his drive to help neurodiverse people.
As a Live skills specialist, Jarom is often found helping students with math, transportation, or running the dungeons and dragons club. Jarom is inspired by the values and empower statements of ScenicView and is focused on helping all live their fullest life.
In his free time, Jarom loves to escape to mountains and the national parks to backpack, hike, and rock climb. If he can’t make it to the great outdoors then he enjoys playing board games with friends, experimenting with a new recipe, and watching movies.
Terri Timmins
Terri earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical & Fuels Engineering from the University of Utah, all while raising four children. Her professional experience includes six years as a private tutor of K-12 and college students, including special-needs students, and nine years as a Process Engineer in the Personal Care and Nanotechnology industries. Terri has enjoyed the past five+ years here at ScenicView, teaching, encouraging independence, and interacting with students. Terri and her husband have been part of the BYU Women’s Basketball Live Stats Team since 2007, and both love to travel. She enjoys Utes football, musical theater, journaling, reading, collecting sea shells, and spending time with her family (currently at 20 grandchildren, many of which travel with her). One of her heroes is Albert Einstein.
