Thobeka graduated from the University of Utah with an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy. While completing her recreational therapy internship at ScenicView, she fell in love with the academy’s mission and atmosphere, having found her people in both the students and the staff. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and as a Registered Behavior Technician for ABA therapy, she believes in strengths-based and assent-based care with the goal to help those she works with become empowered, independent, and confident.

Thobeka enjoys chatting with students about their interests, especially Pokemon, video games, and books. In her free time, she loves reading, writing, taking care of her bonsai tree, and volunteering with organizations that support children with disabilities.
